About these printable paper for the classroom

Every classroom runs out of the right paper at the wrong moment. This is the page to bookmark for that: handwriting paper with a dotted midline for children still learning where lowercase letters sit, standard wide-ruled sheets for older students, and grid and graph paper for math work that needs to line up.

Line height is the thing most people get wrong. Beginning writers do best on tall lines, around 10mm, because bigger spaces give small hands room to form letters. As control improves, drop to 8mm. Each sheet here notes what it is built for, so you can match the paper to the stage rather than guessing.

Frequently asked questions

What line size should I use for kindergarten handwriting paper?
Start at roughly 10mm line height with a dotted midline. The wide spacing gives beginning writers room to form letters, and the midline shows where lowercase letters sit, which is what keeps letter heights consistent. Move to 8mm once letter formation is reliable.
Can I print this paper on a normal home printer?
Yes. Everything here is sized for standard 8.5 x 11 inch paper and prints from any home or school printer. Print at 100% scale, not 'fit to page', or the line spacing will shrink.
What is the difference between grid paper and graph paper?
In practice they are used interchangeably, but grid paper usually means plain squares for arranging digits in columns during addition or long division, while graph paper is used for plotting, coordinate work, and area and perimeter problems. Both are here.
